2019 Festival Event:
Be a Design Engineer: Designing Westerville
Working with students, we plan to propose the essential question: How can we, as young scientists, create a scientifically-based model of a design idea that could help improve our community? Using an entry event to captivate student interest, students will work to identify authentic needs from our perspective, as well as the perspectives of community members of all ages. Using sustained inquiry, we will support students to design & create prototypes of solution models, weaving in our state standards.
Students will then share their design ideas, process, and prototypes with families, and community members at a “hands on” community event showcase open house from 7-8 pm on Thursday, May 2.
