Step by Step: Following the Footsteps of Ohio Civil Rights Heroes

Ohio Humanities and Daydreamers Press will showcase a book for young readers, Step by Step: How the Lincoln School Marchers Blazed a Trail to Justice. Through a read-along of the book with author Carlotta Penn, attendees will learn how a group of mothers and children just like them changed history by marching for civil rights. Readers will also complete a hands-on math activity to compare how far they travel to their own school each day with the distance covered by the Lincoln School Marchers.
