Summer BioBlitz Palooza

Explore nature on the Wayne National Forest at the Baileys Trail System and Lake Vesuvius! To participate, simply download the free iNaturalist app on your smartphone and log plants, animals, and other natural features that you find. Also, check out what other users have found in the area.
Participants are welcome to begin their BioBlitz journeys at any open public area. Please stay on trails where applicable, treat nature with respect, and leave no trace.

Registration: No registration required
Parking Information: Baileys Trail System: Free but limited parking (10-15 spots) at Chauncey-Dover Trailhead Park. Free street parking within walking distance is available in nearby Chauncey. Participants are free to start their BioBlitz at any open trail within the Baileys.
Lake Vesuvius: Free but limited parking available at Lake Vesuvius Lakeshore Trail near the boat ramp (County Road 29, Pedro, Ohio 45659), across from Vesuvius Furnace on Ellisonville-Paddle Creek Road, and Lake Vesuvius Roadside Shelter (slightly north, also on Ellisonville-Paddle Creek Road).
